MiLB Farm Report from June 7, 2026

WooSox and Sea Dogs Win, Salazar’s Grand Slam Falls Short!

Welcome back, Red Sox Nation, to the daily farm report on fenway-fans.de! June 7th brought us a slightly shortened but very successful baseball Sunday. With a positive record of two wins and only one loss (2-1), our farm teams put on strong performances. In Greenville, the weather thwarted our plans, while Worcester and Portland cruised to solid victories, and Salem nearly completed an insane comeback.

Here is the recap from June 7th!

Worcester Red Sox (AAA) – Early Offense Secures 5-3 Home Win

Final Score: Buffalo Bisons 3 – Worcester Red Sox 5

The WooSox started furiously at Polar Park and secured a well-deserved 5-3 victory against the Buffalo Bisons!

In the very first inning, the offense laid the foundation for the win: An RBI single by Nate Eaton and a clutch 2-run single by Matt Lloyd quickly gave Worcester a 3-0 lead. The team didn’t rest on their laurels, adding crucial insurance runs with a sacrifice fly from Vinny Capra (2nd inning) and a strong RBI double from Braiden Ward (4th inning) to make it 5-2. On the mound, starter Michael Sansone delivered a rock-solid performance (5.0 IP, 2 ER, 5 Strikeouts) to earn the win. Reliever Wyatt Olds smoothly shut the door in the ninth inning to grab the save.

WooSox Highlights:

  • Braiden Ward: An excellent day at the plate with two doubles and a run scored (2-for-4).
  • Matt Lloyd: Provided 2 early RBIs with his first-inning single.
  • Michael Sansone: A solid start that gave the offense the support it needed.

Portland Sea Dogs (AA) – Strong Pitching and Solo Shots Secure 3-1 Win

Final Score: Hartford Yard Goats 1 – Portland Sea Dogs 3

The Sea Dogs provided another sporting highlight! With excellent pitching and an opportunistic offense, they defeated the Yard Goats 3-1.

The man of the match stood on the mound: Starter Gage Ziehl delivered a dominant performance! He threw 6.0 strong innings, allowed only one run, and sent an outstanding 8 batters back to the dugout via strikeout to earn the win. The offense took its time but struck with precision: Ronald Rosario tied the game in the fourth inning with a solo home run. In the fifth, an RBI single by Ahbram Liendo gave them a 2-1 lead before Brooks Brannon provided the final dagger with another solo home run in the eighth. Reliever Reidis Sena calmly locked down his 5th save of the season in the ninth.

Sea Dogs Highlights:

Greenville Drive (High-A) – Rainout

Final Score: Cancelled (Rain)

The Greenville Drive game against the Rome Emperors was literally a washout and had to be cancelled due to rain.

Salem RidgeYaks (Single-A) – Salazar’s Grand Slam Not Enough in 11-9 Loss

Final Score: Salem RidgeYaks 9 – Carolina Warbirds 11

An absolutely wild high-scoring affair in Salem! The RidgeYaks fell into a deep hole early on but almost fought their way back with pure brute force.

The RidgeYaks’ pitching had a nightmare of a day, and the team trailed 11-5 after seven innings. But this team doesn’t quit! In the eighth inning, the offense exploded: After three consecutive walks, catcher Kleyver Salazar stepped to the plate and launched a massive Grand Slam Home Run into left-center field! Suddenly, it was an 11-9 game. Unfortunately, they ran out of time to complete the comeback. Alongside Salazar (3 hits and 4 RBIs total), Avinson Pinto also shined with a triple, a home run, and 3 RBIs.

Salem Highlights:

Avinson Pinto: Extremely dangerous at the plate with a triple, a home run, and 3 RBIs.

Kleyver Salazar: A fantastic Grand Slam in the 8th inning (4 RBIs and 3 hits overall).
