MiLB Farm Report from June 4, 2026

WooSox Cruise, Nunez Hits a Grand Slam!

Welcome back, Red Sox Nation, to the daily farm report on fenway-fans.de! June 4, 2026, brought our farm system a perfectly balanced record of two wins and two losses (2-2). While the WooSox delivered a commanding performance and the RidgeYaks’ offense completely escalated, Portland and Greenville had to accept defeat in tight matchups.

Here is the corrected recap from June 4th!

Worcester Red Sox (AAA) – Commanding 5-1 Victory Thanks to Strong Pitching

Final Score: Buffalo Bisons 1 – Worcester Red Sox 5

The WooSox put on a convincing performance against the Buffalo Bisons, cruising to a well-deserved 5-1 victory!

The foundation was laid by a very stable pitching crew. Devin Sweet, Osvaldo Berrios (Win), Seth Martinez, and Wyatt Olds held the Bisons to just a single run and six hits. The WooSox offense struck mercilessly in the second inning: After an RBI single by Matt Lloyd, Tsung-Che Cheng hammered a crushing 2-run home run over the fence. In the following inning, Braiden Ward followed up immediately with a solo home run of his own. Allan Castro also had an excellent night at the plate, collecting 3 hits (including a double) in 4 at-bats.

WooSox Highlights:

  • Tsung-Che Cheng: His 5th home run of the season broke the ice early (2 RBIs).
  • Braiden Ward: Sent the ball into the stands for his second home run of the year.
  • Allan Castro: A strong 3-for-4 night at the plate, including a double.

Portland Sea Dogs (AA) – Baez’s Homer Not Enough in Pitching Duel

Final Score: Hartford Yard Goats 4 – Portland Sea Dogs 1

A true pitching duel at Delta Dental Park where the Sea Dogs’ offense unfortunately drew the short straw. Hartford ruthlessly capitalized on their few opportunities.

Portland starter Blake Wehunt threw a rock-solid 6.0 innings, allowing only two runs (one of them via a home run). Offensively, our team struggled immensely. The only bright spot was Nate Baez, who provided the Sea Dogs’ lone run with a solo home run (his 6th of the season) in the sixth inning. Aside from that, the Yard Goats’ strong defense (and their starter Konner Eaton) kept things locked down. A narrow but deserved loss.

Sea Dogs Highlights:

  • Blake Wehunt: A strong start (6.0 IP, 2 ER, 6 K) that unfortunately went unrewarded.
  • Nate Baez: The sole offensive contributor with a solo home run.
  • Nelly Taylor: Stood out with two hits and a stolen base.

Greenville Drive (High-A) – Heartbreak and a 10th-Inning Walk-off

Final Score: Greenville Drive 4 – Rome Emperors 5 (10 Innings)

What a thriller! The Greenville Drive gave the Emperors a tough fight going the distance, only to be dramatically decided in extra innings.

After Greenville sensationally erased a 3-0 deficit in the sixth inning with home runs from Gerardo Rodriguez and Isaiah Jackson, the game seesawed back and forth. In the ninth inning, Greenville even took a 4-3 lead thanks to an Emperors fielding error! But the bullpen couldn’t hold the lead. Rome tied it in the bottom of the ninth. The bitterest moment came in the tenth inning: A sacrifice fly by Eric Hartman brought in the decisive walk-off run for the Emperors.

Drive Highlights:

Salem RidgeYaks (Single-A) – Grand Slam Madness in a 12-6 Win!

Final Score: Salem RidgeYaks 12 – Carolina Warbirds 6

A completely crazy game with 18 runs! Salem exploded offensively and secured a clear 12-6 victory, even if the defense wasn’t always flawless.

The offense was an absolute powerhouse: In the third inning, Starlyn Nunez hit a magnificent Grand Slam Home Run that completely turned the game upside down! Salem scored at will during the middle frames. Adonys Guzman was nearly impossible to get out, hitting an incredible three doubles, while Stanley Tucker contributed an important 2-run triple. Catcher Andruw Musett was also constantly on the basepaths with two hits and two walks. An absolute offensive party!

Salem Highlights:

Stanley Tucker: Extremely dangerous with a triple and 2 RBIs.

Starlyn Nunez: A Grand Slam is always special! (A massive 5 RBIs total).

Adonys Guzman: 3 doubles in one game! A fantastic showing at the plate.
